Engineering the energy backbone of sustainable cities
We emerged from a simple observation: urban energy systems were failing to keep pace with the demands of modern cities. Aging infrastructure, regulatory complexity, and rapid technological change created a gap between what municipalities needed and what traditional utilities could deliver.
Our founding team brought together electrical engineers, urban planners, and data scientists who had spent decades working inside power companies, municipal governments, and research institutions. They understood both the technical challenges and the political realities.
Since establishing operations in 2018, we have completed 127 infrastructure projects across Canadian municipalities, helping cities transition from reactive maintenance to proactive energy management.
Every recommendation we make is backed by engineering analysis, not vendor marketing. We test assumptions, model alternatives, and document trade-offs before presenting solutions.
Strategy documents gather dust. We design solutions that can actually be built, operated, and maintained by real municipal teams with real budget constraints.
Energy infrastructure decisions made today will impact cities for 30 to 50 years. We optimize for lifecycle performance, not initial cost minimization.
Our clients receive complete access to our analysis methodologies, data sources, and modeling assumptions. No black boxes, no proprietary secrets.
Chief Technical Officer
Former lead grid engineer at BC Hydro with 18 years developing transmission planning methodologies. PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Toronto focused on renewable integration dynamics.
Director of Strategy
Previously managed energy transition programs for the City of Montreal. Specialized in stakeholder engagement and regulatory navigation for large-scale infrastructure projects.
Head of Analytics
Developed predictive models for energy demand forecasting at Natural Resources Canada. Background in machine learning applications for power system optimization.
Infrastructure Lead
Spent 15 years overseeing substation construction and grid modernization at Alberta Electric System Operator. Expertise in project delivery under constrained timelines.
We begin every engagement with data collection. Energy consumption patterns, infrastructure condition assessments, regulatory constraints, and financial parameters all feed into our analysis framework.
Our technical team then develops multiple solution scenarios, each optimized for different priorities: lowest cost, highest reliability, fastest carbon reduction, or minimal disruption.
We present these options with complete transparency about assumptions, risks, and trade-offs. The final decision always rests with our clients, but they make it with full information.
During implementation, we maintain continuous involvement, adapting plans as field conditions reveal new information and ensuring that theoretical designs translate into functional systems.
